Osaka Castle
1. Historical Background
Osaka Castle was constructed in 1568 by the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Sengoku period. Hideyoshi chose this site as the base for his efforts to unify Japan, and the castle was built using the most advanced techniques of the time. Over the years, Osaka Castle endured several attacks, most notably during the Siege of Osaka in 1615, which caused significant damage.
